From A Work Meeting To A Walk Down The Aisle, Gloria & Justin Share Their Beautiful Love Story With Star.Ng

When Gloria was called to meet with a client at work that afternoon, she had no idea she was about meeting the love of her life and the man she would eventually call husband.

And for Justin, it was love at first sight. He knew from the moment he laid eyes on her that he wanted more than just a business relationship with her.

12 months from that first meeting, the two took the proverbial walk down the aisle and they are sharing their love story with Star.Ng!

The meeting…

Gloria: “Justin was invited from our Dubai office to attend an investment presentation in our Abuja office. I can remember being called on my office extension that I had a client at the reception that fateful afternoon. Apparently, it was my turn to take a client. I carried my work folder and went out to receive him. The meeting lasted for about an hour and 20 minutes after which he asked for my business card and I gave him.

Later that evening he called me and asked that we see but I declined. He started calling on a daily trying to fix a date but wouldn’t budge and I really don’t have any explanation for why I kept turning down his invitations. It wasn’t until 3 months after that I finally met Mr. Persistent.

What I didn’t realize was that I had not only sold my company product to Justin but I had also sold myself as a worthy young lady deserving of the purest love in the world.”

The proposal….

Justin: “It all feels like yesterday. Her 2016 birthday was drawing near. 2 days before the day, I drove to a jewellery store (Delphi Metals) to get the engagement ring. I still remember where I parked and how I felt when I walked through the door – the anticipation. I remember how the ring looked in its complete state and how I believed the attendant who saw me admiring the ring and said, ‘It’s Classic. It’s timeless. She’s very lucky. She’ll love it’.

On her birthday when I was going to propose, I made her park her car at my office parking lot and we drove in my car to a French restaurant in Maitama. I remember my confidence, my sureness of what I was doing that afternoon.

Before our order arrived, the staff of the restaurant who I had already informed that it was her birthday, came and sang the usual birthday song for her and she blushed away.

After our meal, I rose from my chair, moved it away, took a deep breath, went down on one knee and popped the BIG question – “Will you marry me?” and in amazement she said yes. She was pleasantly surprised. Everyone in the restaurant was screaming “congratulations” as I slipped the ring on her finger. It was truly magical.”
